SUSSED Wales was created by it's porthcawl-based sister charity, Sustainable Wales as a social enterprise to help Diversify the local economy and to help finance the charity in the longer term.
The primary function of SUSSED is to retails ethically sources, environmentaly-friendly or locally produced goods: a 'shop window to the world', offering the community educational support and volunteer opportunities.
Based in Porthcawl, SUSSED has a local membership, runs with the support of volunteers and work alongside SW charity(in the same premises) who instigate a range of enterprising, cultural, educational, promotional and outreach activities.
Sustainable Wales has developed a role that requires supervision of retail sales in the shop, at events and online of our ethically selected goods. Volunteer coordination, till management, administration and IT skills will also feature.
The main responsibilities will include:
Opening and closing of the shop.
Supervising sales and stock.
Providing good Customer Service.
Managing the till and end of day reconciliation.
Inputting data on to spreadsheets.
working with volunteers and deputising for absent volunteers.
Coordinating rotas and meetings.
Working some Saturdays
Supporting the Directors
Helping with promotion of goods, services and events.
Full training will be provided as necessary

Desirable personal qualities
The role is ideal for someone with a reasonable standard of education who can be flexible, is a confident communicator, a team player and is enthusiastic. Motivated by sustainable development, fairtrade and ethical consumerism and is willing to learn. IT skills are desirable and a willingness to learn more about SUSSED and its issues and principles.
